About Myself
Background
I grew up in the countryside of Austria. As such natural environments and a healthy and natural way of living became very important to me. From the age of 14 to 19 I attended a higher vocational school that had its focus on business and commerce. Soon after, I started my career in banking. During that time I also discovered my love for movement and exercise and I ventured forth as a part-time fitness instructor teaching various group fitness classes.
It was in 2002 when a life changing event took place and I migrated to Melbourne, Australia where I studied International Trade. My ‘soul search’ however continued after the completion of my Diploma. I started working as an Office Manager in an Architecture and Interior Design company. This brought me very close to realising my childhood dream of becoming an Architect. My interest in alternative health and wellbeing however, surpassed my creative urges to design residences and I started my part-time kinesiology studies in PKP in 2005. Thus, the foundation was laid for my career as a kinesiologist and practitioner. Over the years, I also attended courses in Reiki and Theta Healing.
In 2008 I became a member of the Australian Institute of Kinesiologists (AIK). In 2010 I joined the AIK Board as a National Executive. In my two year role as the Membership Registrar I was responsible for the administration, registration and management of the AIK members and the healthfund dealings as well as supporting the Board with the day to day business.
My Story
I came across kinesiology the first time when an article in a German magazine caught my attention. It talked about how kinesiology could access the root cause of an issue just by muscle testing the body. I was mesmerized and felt thrilled. It just sounded like what I was looking for for quite some time. Rather than just treating symptoms kinesiology can dive deep into the layers of consciousness and grab hold of the root of an issue or disease that may present itself. A kinesiologist can identify the right tools to release it and to bring back equilibrium. This was pretty much the start of my kinesiology journey.
I started my Diploma in Professional Kinesiology Practice (PKP) in 2005 at Kinesiology Connection in Melbourne several years later. Whilst I was taught a great variety of tools I found it quite life transforming on many different levels. It enriched me personally and brought about change in many different areas of my life like my health and wellbeing, relationships, feeling more empowered, better coping with life’s challenges. Along the path I also picked up other energy based healing modalities such as Reiki and Theta Healing. And as shifts occurred on the inside, the shifts were also ‘visible’ on the outside, reflecting the change of my way of thinking, my attitudes and belief systems, simply the way I perceive. It helped me to become the person that I am today.
Over the years I have learned that it ultimately is the shift in consciousness and the awareness you gain that causes the shift in health and wellbeing. Everything that you believe or feel is ‘you’ is reflected in your outside world. Therefore, working on myself to bring forth personal growth and a shift in consciousness made a lot of sense to me. Learning to be love and to become greater love is the key to improved health and wellbeing.
Mission
I am passionate about helping people on their journey to create greater awareness and to uncover what’s holding them back in creating greater health and wellbeing. My goal is to assist people with their personal growth so that they can connect with their inherent nature to become the person who they truly are and to reach their fullest potential.
About Essens Wellness
Essens Wellness was established in 2008. The word ‘ESSENS’ is derived from the Swedish language and means ‘essence’, the inherent nature of a thing or idea. The word essence strongly resonated with me because kinesiology promotes health and wellbeing (ultimately wellness) by supporting the body’s self healing abilities bringing the energy flow back into its equilibrium – which is the inherent nature of everyone.[/col]
